– 1 pound breakfast sausage
– 1 pre-made pizza dough or homemade dough
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 cups whole milk
– 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
– 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
– 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– Fresh chives or green onions, chopped for garnish
Directions:
1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 475F 245C. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now.
2. Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the skillet.
3. Make Gravy: Sprinkle flour over sausage, stirring to combine. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until thickened, 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Prepare Pizza Dough: Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Brush with olive oil. Pre-bake the crust on a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet for 5 minutes.
5. Assemble Pizza: Spread sausage gravy over the pre-baked crust. Top with scrambled eggs, then sprinkle with both cheeses.
Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Garnish with chives or green onions.
Serve: Let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
