Classic Tomato Salad
Classic Tomato Salad is a fresh, simple dish that highlights the natural sweetness and juiciness of ripe tomatoes. Lightly dressed and full of bright flavor, it’s perfect as a side dish for summer meals or served alongside grilled meats.
Ingredients: 4 ripe tomatoes sliced or cut into wedges, ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar, salt and black pepper to taste, and optional fresh basil or parsley.
To prepare the salad, place the sliced tomatoes and red onion in a serving bowl.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the tomatoes and gently toss to coat.
Let the salad sit for 10–15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve at room temperature.
