Mississippi Mud Pie

Mississippi Mud Pie

Mississippi Mud Pie is a rich, decadent chocolate dessert layered with a crisp cookie crust, a fudgy chocolate filling, and a light, creamy topping. Deeply indulgent and full of chocolate flavor, this classic Southern-style pie is perfect for special occasions or anytime you want an extra-special treat.

Ingredients for the crust: 1½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs, 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar.

Ingredients for the chocolate filling: ½ cup unsalted butter, ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder, ¾ cup granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, ¼ cup heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

Ingredients for the topping: 1½ cups whipped topping or freshly whipped cream.

To prepare the crust, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a bowl until evenly mixed. Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie dish. Bake for 8–10 minutes, then remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

To make the filling, melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in the cocoa powder and sugar until smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the heavy cream and vanilla extract.

Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust and bake for 20–25 minutes, until set but still slightly soft in the center. Allow the pie to cool completely.

Once cooled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the pie. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
