Baked Sweet Potatoes

Baked Sweet Potatoes are a simple and wholesome side dish featuring naturally sweet, tender potatoes with a slightly caramelized exterior. They are easy to prepare, nutritious, and perfect alongside roasted meats, salads, or as a cozy solo snack.

Ingredients: 4 medium sweet potatoes, 1–2 tablespoons olive oil, and salt to taste. Optional toppings: butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, or maple syrup.

To prepare the sweet potatoes, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

Pierce each sweet potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during baking. Rub each potato lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.

Place the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 45–60 minutes, depending on size, until they are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork.

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Slice open and serve with your preferred toppings such as butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, or maple syrup.
